Privacy Policy.

What we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

Last updated October 24, 2026

1.Who we are and what this policy covers

This site, odogwuraman.com, is the personal site of Raman Arunsi. It is published by Design Glyphe Limited, a company registered in Nigeria. Design Glyphe Limitedis the controller of your personal data here. That means we decide why and how it is used, and we answer to you for it. “We”, “us” and “our” in this policy mean Design Glyphe Limited.

This policy covers this site, including the Playbooks and the Flawed Context pages, the emails we send you, and any message you send us.

It does not cover other sites, even when we link to them. That includes Chalkline Reports, which is also run by Design Glyphe Limited but has its own privacy policy. That policy applies whenever you use it.

2.The personal data we collect

We collect personal data only in the situations below, and only what each one needs.

When you subscribe
Your email address, the date you signed up, whether you confirmed it, and whether you are still subscribed. Which emails you asked for: one fix in full every two weeks, or a note when a Flawed Context episode is out. The page you signed up on, and the outside website that sent you there, its name only. And how you found the site, if you tell us. We use those last three to learn where readers find the site.
When you write to us
Your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to tell us. Please leave out anything sensitive, such as health or financial details. We don't need them to answer you.
When you visit
The technical details your browser sends to every website: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and the date and time. Our hosting provider receives these to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack.
When we count readers
Which pages are read, which site sent the visitor, roughly where the visit came from (the country, region or city, worked out from the IP address), the type of device, browser and operating system, clicks on a few links, such as the link to Chalkline Reports, how far down a playbook people read, how often its main step is copied or sent, and how many people start, finish or leave the booking form. This is counted without cookies. A visit is recognized by a code built from your IP address and browser details, which is changed regularly and can't be turned back into either. Your IP address itself is never stored. We see totals, and we can't tell from them who you are.
When you book a call
Your name and email, your Google listing, your trade, and your answers to the questions before the call. Section 5 sets out all of it.
When you read a playbook
Your place in the piece, saved on your own device so you can pick up where you left off. It never reaches us. Section 10 explains it.

We don't collect the sensitive categories of data the law protects most closely. We don't take payments on this site. We don't buy data about you from anyone else.

3.How we use it, and the legal basis for each use

Data protection law lets us use personal data only when we have a lawful basis for it. The laws that apply are the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, when you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation. This is each use, and the basis we rely on for it.

Sending you each fix and new episodes
Your consent, given when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time.
Answering you when you write
Our legitimate interest in replying to the people who contact us. Where you ask about working together, it is also a step you asked us to take before any agreement.
Preparing for and holding a call you book
Steps you ask us to take, and our legitimate interest in preparing properly for the time you give us. Section 5 explains it.
Running the site and keeping it secure
Our legitimate interest in a site that works, and in stopping misuse and attacks.
Understanding what is read
Our legitimate interest in knowing which writing helps, so we can make more of it. It is done without cookies and without data that identifies you.
Meeting legal duties and defending claims
A legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in protecting our rights.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed them against your rights and found that they don't override them. You can object at any time, as section 11 explains.

We never use your data for advertising or to build a profile of you. We make no decisions about you by automated means alone.

4.Our emails

We email you only what you signed up for: one fix in full every two weeks, and new Flawed Context episodes. We don't add you to anything else, and we don't pass your address to anyone to market to you.

When you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm your address. Nothing else comes until you do. A Playbooks reader then gets one welcome email.

If you reply with what happened when you tried a playbook, we share it only as you tell us: with your name and business, without your name, or not at all. If you don't say, it stays with us.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and one click takes you off the list. You can also write to privacy@mail.odogwuraman.com and we will do it for you.

Our emails carry no tracking pixels and no tracked links. We don't record whether you open an email or click anything in it.

If someone signed you up without asking you, unsubscribe or tell us. We will delete the address.

5.When you book a call

You can book 45 minutes with Raman Arunsi from the Connect page. Before you pick a time, the form asks a few questions so the call is worth your time.

What we collect
Your trade; your role in the business; a rough range for its yearly revenue; when you could act on what we find; your Google listing, as you pick it, as a link you paste, or as the company name you type; what made you want the call, and anything you choose to add; whether anyone else makes the decisions with you, and whether they can join; if they are joining, their email address, which we use only to send them the invitation and delete with the call; how you found this site; the page of this site you read just before the Connect page, and the name of the website you arrived from, if any (its name only, never the full address); your name and email address; your time zone and the time you choose; whether you confirm; and whether the call took place.
Finding your listing
When you search for your listing, the words you type are sent to a maps provider to find the matches. We don't keep the search.
If the call isn't the right fit
The form checks your first four answers in your browser. If they show the call isn't the right fit yet, nothing you answered is sent to us or kept.
Why we use it
To prepare for the call, to hold it at the time you chose, and to send you the invitation and the reminders about it. The revenue range is used only to choose which rivals to look at for a company your size. How you found the site, and the page you came from, tell us which writing brings owners to a call. The page is noted in your browser's memory while you read, never stored on your device.
Where it is kept
With the call, in our calendar, which also sends the invitation and provides the link to join. Our email delivery provider sends the emails about it.
The emails about your call
A confirmation, a reminder the day before, a reminder an hour before, and a note if we miss each other. They are about the call you booked, not marketing. Joining the Playbooks list is a separate box, left unticked.
Before the call
Raman reads what a homeowner would find about your company: your public Google listing, your public reviews and your website. Any notes he makes are kept with the call and deleted with it.
Recording
We never record the call.
How long we keep it
The call and everything above are deleted 12 months after the call took place. If you miss two calls without telling us, we use that record to decline a third booking within those 12 months.

6.Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the people below, and only what each needs.

  • Service providers who run parts of this site for us. They act only on our instructions, under contracts that require them to protect your data and forbid them from using it for anything else. By what they do, they are: a website hosting provider, which delivers these pages to you and holds the technical logs described in section 2; an email delivery provider, which holds the subscriber list and sends the emails you asked for; a business email provider, which receives and stores the messages you send us; a calendar and video-call provider, which holds the calls you book, sends the invitation and provides the link to join; a maps provider, which receives the words you type when you search for your Google listing; a privacy-focused analytics provider, which counts visits without cookies and without storing personal data. Write to us and we will send you their names.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, when we need their advice. They are bound to keep it confidential.
  • Courts, regulators and the police, when the law requires it, or when it is needed to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
  • A new owner, if Design Glyphe Limited or this site is ever reorganised, merged or sold. The new owner would have to honor this policy.

We never sell, rent or trade personal data. We never share it with anyone for their advertising.

7.Transfers to other countries

We are based in Nigeria, and some of our service providers work from other countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and countries in the European Union. So your data may be handled outside the country where you live.

When it is, we rely on a route the law allows. That is either a decision that the destination protects data adequately, or a contract that contains standard data protection clauses approved for the purpose, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum. For data leaving Nigeria, we follow Part VIII of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Write to us to ask which safeguard covers your data.

8.How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for.

Your subscription
For as long as you stay subscribed. When you leave, we keep only your email address, on a list of people not to email, so we never write to you again by mistake. Ask us to delete that too, and we will.
Messages you send us
For as long as we need them to deal with what you asked, and any follow-up. We review what we hold at least once a year and delete what we no longer need, unless the law requires us to keep it or we need it for a legal claim.
A call you book
Deleted 12 months after the call took place, with the notes made for it. Answers from a visitor the form turns away are never kept.
Technical logs
For a short period set by our hosting provider, for security and fixing faults. They are then deleted automatically.
Reader counts
Kept as totals. Totals contain no personal data, so they are not deleted on a schedule.
Your reading place
On your device only, for up to 30 days. It is removed when you finish the piece, and you can clear it yourself at any time.

9.How we protect it

  • Every page on this site is served over an encrypted connection.
  • Only the people who need your data to do their work can reach it, and the accounts that hold it are protected.
  • We choose service providers for their security, and our contracts with them require it.

If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will report it to the regulator as the law requires, within 72 hours of learning of it. If it is likely to put you at high risk, we will also tell you directly and without delay.

No website or email system can be made perfectly secure. We can't promise that it never will be breached. We can promise to take care, and to tell you the truth if something goes wrong.

10.Cookies and your device

This site sets no cookies. Not ours, not our analytics provider's, and not an advertiser's. There are no social media pixels and no third-party trackers, and we don't try to recognize your device in any other way.

One thing is stored on your device. When you read a playbook, the page saves your place in your browser's local storage: where you were on the page, which section you were in, and when. It lets us offer to take you back there next time. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. It is removed when you reach the end of the piece, or after 30days. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks storage, every page still works. You just won't be offered your place back.

The script that counts readers is served from this site's own address and stores nothing on your device.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, there is nothing here for it to switch off, because we don't track you across sites. We will respect that signal if we ever add anything it applies to.

The booking form stores nothing on your device.

If we ever need to store anything else, we will update this section first. Where the law requires your consent, we will ask for it before anything is stored.

11.Your rights

The law gives you rights over your personal data. Some of these apply only in certain countries. We give them to everyone, wherever you live. You can ask us to:

  • tell you whether we hold data about you, and send you a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your data;
  • limit how we use it while a question about it is settled;
  • give you the data you provided in a common, machine-readable format, or send it to someone else;
  • stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests. If you object to our emails, we stop, with no questions asked;
  • withdraw your consent at any time. That doesn't make anything we did before you withdrew it unlawful.

You also have the right not to be subject to a decision made by automated means alone. We make no such decisions.

To use any of these rights, write to privacy@mail.odogwuraman.com. Please write from the email address your request is about, or tell us how we can confirm it is yours. We will reply within one month. If a request is complex, we may need up to two more months, and we will tell you why within the first month.

We don't charge for this. If a request is clearly unfounded or excessive, the law lets us charge a reasonable fee or decline. We would explain why.

12.Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first, at privacy@mail.odogwuraman.com. We would like the chance to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator:

13.If you live in the United States

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as US state privacy laws define those terms. We don't use it for targeted advertising or for profiling, and we don't collect sensitive personal information. The rights in section 11 are yours, whichever state you live in.

14.Children

This site is written for people who run businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

15.Links to other sites

This site links to others, including LinkedIn, podcast apps, the sources we cite, and Chalkline Reports. When you follow a link, the other site's privacy policy applies, not this one. Please read it before you give that site anything.

16.Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will email subscribers before it takes effect.

Before we add a new way for you to share information with us, such as comments, we will update this policy to describe it. Earlier versions are available on request.

17.How to contact us

For anything about your personal data, write to privacy@mail.odogwuraman.com. A person reads every message.

For other legal matters, write to legal@mail.odogwuraman.com.
